De distance learning course wordt in het Nederlands gegeven.
Na de distance learning cursus mag je in elk EASA land het theorie-examen afleggen.
Jij mag de praktijk in elke EASA vliegschool volgen.
Let op! Na het starten van de cursus vervalt het herroepingsrecht. Je kan geen terugbetaling aanvragen.

Op regelmatige tijdstippen is er contact om de vooruitgang te bespreken.

Distance learning?

Jij mag de theorie en de praktijk volgen in twee verschillende vliegscholen. Jij mag kiezen om bij onze school de PPL/LAPL theorie te volgen en tegelijkertijd, daarna of ervoor te starten met de praktijk in een vliegclub/vliegschool. Dit is jouw keuze.

Na het doorlopen van de distance learning course, krijg je van ons een attest waarmee je het theorie examen mag aanvragen. Ben je geslaagd voor het theorie examen, dan blijft dit resultaat 2 jaar geldig. Binnen deze tijdsperiode moet je ook slagen voor het praktijkexamen en voor de English Language Proficiency (ELP) test. Lukt dit niet, dan moet je opnieuw het theorie examen afleggen.

Hoe werkt de distance learning course?

Je leert de theorie via zelfstudie. Op je account vind je de theorieboeken en het vraag/antwoord boek terug. Je mag deze downloaden en uitprinten (PDF formaat).

Jij mag altijd contact opnemen via telefoon, bericht, e-mail,... om vragen te stellen. Wij helpen je graag verder met je vraag. Dit is in de prijs van de cursus inbegrepen. Ongeacht is er eenmaal per maand contact met een TKI (theoretical knowledge instructor) om de voortuitgang te bespreken en om wat hulp aan te bieden.

Let wel op! Als je heel wat hulp nodig hebt, dan is het niet meer zelfstudie. Je mag wel online bijlessen aanvragen. Online bijlessen zijn 45 euro/uur.

Je zal om en bij 200 studie-uren nodig hebben om de leerstof door te nemen.

De cursus bestaat uit 9 vakken:

Luchtvaartwetgeving, 20 studie-uren.
Operationele procedures, 20 studie-uren.
Vluchtbeginselen, 35 studie-uren.
Meteorologie, 35 studie-uren.
Radiocommunicatie, 15 studie-uren.
Vluchtprestatie en -planning, 30 studie-uren.
Algemene kennis van het luchtvaartuig, 25 studie-uren.
Menselijke prestaties, 20 studie-uren.

Voel jij je er klaar voor, dan mag je per vak (eigen keuze) het openboekexamen aanvragen. Dit is een getimed openboekexamen die je online thuis mag afleggen. Om te slagen moet je minstens 75% halen per vak. Heb je wat pech en jouw resultaat is tussen 60% en 74%, dan krijg je een herkansing. In totaal krijg je per vak 2 herkansingen. Slaag je niet, dan moet je minstens één uur online bijles volgen.

Is jouw resultaat onder 60%, dan krijg je geen herkansing. Je moet verplicht minstens één uur online bijles volgen (49 euro/uur incl. btw).

We moeten samen bespreken wat er misgelopen is en, eventuele, problemen oplossen. Daarna mag je opnieuw de leerstof doornemen en het openboekexamen voor het vak opnieuw aanvragen.

Ben je voor elk vak geslaagd voor het openboekexamen, dan mag je de 5 online sessies meevolgen. Hier praten we over heel diversie onderwerpen, we overlopen alle vakken en kan je nog extra vragen stellen.

Na het volgen van de 5 online sessies, mag je afkomen naar het klaslokaal (Aalter of St-Truiden) om de laatste examens af te leggen. Slaag je voor alle 9 vakken, dan is de theorieopleiding beëindigd en mag je het officiële examen aanvragen.

When you do your flight training, it is impossible to learn everything. It would also be expensive if you need to pay for an airplane and a flight instructor every time you want to learn something new.

So most of us complete our flight training and afterward, we fly alone or with friends to discover and learn new things.

But sometimes we avoid doing things because we do not know the answer and avoid the situation altogether... Fying an airplane is far more than moving the stick and the rudder. There is a lot of knowledge in the aviation world. There is so much to learn to improve yourself, to expand your horizon, No the things you want to do. On this website, we have our Aviator's Masterclass Course that you can follow. You can watch flight training videos to explain little small things and big important things. You can watch real examples when things go horribly wrong and how to react to save your life. You can watch videos explaining general things in aviation, for example, how maintenance works, and how to buy an airplane. You can watch videos on how to prepare for a long navigation flight.

Meet the team!

I'm Pieter-Jan De Coninck, my brother and I made this website and I present/edit the videos. I have been flying since I was old enough to see over the dashboard (with a pillow of course). Officially I have over 18 years of flying experience, of which 9 years as a full time flight instructor and thousands of hours flight time. I have seen more or less everything inside and outside the cockpit, accept for an engine/cockpit fire. Well... two times I came very close to having a fire onboard.

But with somethings I do not mind having no personal experience with...

And of course, flying is save! But if you fly so many hours things can and will happen.

On this website I want to collect and store as much knowledge as possible. All this

knowledge is not mine alone. This is the knowledge of my father, who is a very

experienced flight instructor and airline pilot. This is the knowledge of Dirk also

know as 'Speedy' who was a military pilot, back in the day

he flew the F-104 Startfighter.

This is the knowledge of so many other pilots who I know and have learned so many things from. Still to this day, I want to keep gaining as much knowledge as possible from as many pilots as possible to keep on improving my own flying skills.
